Wrangler & Trail Guide
As a Wrangler and Trail Guide with Banff Trail Riders, you will be required to take care of our herd of nearly 300 horses and mules. The core aspect of your role will be guiding tours on horseback, demonstrating your knowledge of the horses, the mountains, and the environment to provide an informative and entertaining experience to guests of Banff National Park. In addition to this, horses provided to the staff will need training, to various degrees, and you will be asked to assist in their development in the hopes they may be a safe companion for future guests.
This position will require you to:
- Guide engaging narrative trail rides from 1 hour to 4 hours length.
- Efficiently Perform general barn duties and chores.
- Maintain a high level of care for our horses (groom, saddle, fit).
- Demonstrate initiative and adaptability.
- Assist guests as they mount and dismount.
- Interact with guests in a fun professional manner.
Qualifications:
- Proficient horseback riding experience (Western preferred).
- Previous seasonal work experience is preferred.
- Strong customer service experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- An interest in the Western lifestyle.
- Valid "Standard" First-Aid certificate.
- Video footage demonstrating your riding ability is required.
This is a seasonal position that runs from late May until October.
Limited staff accommodation may be available upon request.
