We are hiring for a Solar Site Surveyor to work in Edmonton and its Surrounding Area!
Overview
To ensure that the installation process goes as smoothly for the customer as possible, our Site Survey team performs a thorough inspection of all job sites before we begin. This inspection includes:
- Roofing - Operating a RPAS (drone) to evaluate roof condition and measurements.
- Electrical - Documenting and evaluating the existing electrical infrastructure.
- Structural - Entering attics to assess the trusses' structural integrity.
This requires someone who is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and able to work on their own. The ideal candidate will be excited to continually learn about new fields as the scope of work extends to multiple different disciplines. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed survey drawings, maps, and documentation for project teams.
- Manage survey databases and ensure data integrity across various platforms.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams to provide precise survey information.
- Maintain equipment calibration and ensure safety protocols are followed during fieldwork.
- Assist in the development of survey plans that meet project specifications and regulatory standards.
Requirements
Candidates must have:
- Reliable transportation.
- Willingness to learn about multiple fields.
- Ability to operate power and hand tools.
- Capability of repeatedly lifting heavy objects.
- Willingness to work in tight spaces.
- Ability to work both independently in the field and collaboratively within a team.
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
- Knowledge of construction processes and inspection techniques
- Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and database management.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
- A Basic or Advanced Drone Pilot Certificate.

Compensation
This is a freelance contractor position, allowing for a flexible schedule with higher potential earnings for those willing to provide more availability and take on more work. Pay is based on the number of appointments completed, with the average appointment being scheduled for a 1 hour time slot. Mileage will also be paid to those willing to travel.
