Hiring:
MUD HERO EVENT STAFF - $20/HR
Mud Hero is Canadian organization that owns and operates athletic mud run events. With multiple events across Ontario, Mud Hero is the largest mud obstacle course race. Mud Hero caters to individuals looking to test their physical limits and enjoyment through mud obstacle course racing and change their frame of reference for what they can accomplish.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Finish Line Staff:
- Prepare all finish line products in an effective and organized manner
- Educate volunteers of the different tasks they will be asked to do
- Aid and take care of the volunteers in your zone, provide breaks and snacks when needed
- Supervise and maintain a throughput that results in little to no lines
- Communicate with Festival Manager about low or depleted inventory of finish line products
- Manage volunteers and support staff in an efficient and deliberate manner through delegation of tasks
- Supervise the distribution of product being handed out by the volunteers
- Supervise the collection of timing chips from racers
- Ensure that all bracelets have been removed from the timing chips
- Clean all timing chips with water- as instructed by the Festival Manager and Festival Lead
- Maintain a clean and trash free zone
Bag Check Staff:
- Label and organize the lanes used to store bags.
- Supervise the organization of the bag check wristbands
- Hang lights, if necessary. Ensure the lights have power
- Maintain a high tempo, but fun work environment on race day
- Manage volunteers in an efficient and deliberate manner
- Take care of and provide your volunteers with water, snacks and breaks when necessary
- Supervise the flow and ensure no lines in the zone
- Breakdown and store the Bag Check system as instructed by your Festival Manager or Festival Lead
- Provide post race inventory of Bag Check Crate to the Festival Manager
Registration Staff:
- Lead onsite registration staff in event execution, utilizing the onsite registration setup guide and checklist
- Gather event process feedback and recommend process enhancements
- Responsible for the management of onsite-registration equipment and setup
- Registering each customer (pre-registered and walk-up registration)
- Managing registration volunteers during event days
- Provide excellent customer service
- Provide wrap-up and completion materials including post-race inventory and event summary

Qualifications
- Have experience working in a high pace environment
- Be comfortable supervising 5+ volunteers at any given time
- Be prepared and comfortable with working outside in all severe weather situations
- Be physically capable of working long hours 3+ days consecutively
- Be willing to learn the processes set in place, while maintaining an analytical and problem solving mindset to improve these procedures

Pay: $20.00 per hour
