This role requires advanced technical skills in hardscaping alongside strong team leadership, blueprint reading, and site layout capabilities.Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on Leadership: Work actively alongside the crew on physical tasks while simultaneously supervising the job site.
- Multitasking Excellence: Balance simultaneous tasks including tool tracking, crew oversight, material checks, and timeline management.
- Safety & Documentation: Conduct daily tailgate meetings, complete hazard assessments, log hours, and maintain accurate field paperwork.
- Crew Leadership: Direct daily tasks, manage crew productivity, and enforce strict safety standards on-site.
- Layout & Grading: Read engineered blueprints, establish accurate site elevations, and set grade lines for drainage.
- Advanced Installation: Lead the building of structural retaining walls, intricate paver patterns, steps, and outdoor kitchens.
- Equipment & Fleet Management: Operate and oversee the maintenance of crew trucks, cargo vans, skid steers, mini-excavators, and commercial masonry saws.
- Quality Control: Ensure proper base compaction, clean joints, and precise cuts to minimize project deficiencies.
- Client & Management Communication: Provide progress updates to the Project Manager and maintain professional client relations on-site.

- Experience: 3 to 5+ years of professional hardscape experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of interlocking concrete, retaining walls and installation standards.
- Equipment & Fleet Skills: Proven proficiency operating heavy machinery and safely driving crew trucks and vans with loaded equipment trailers.
- Physical Fitness: Capability to perform strenuous physical labor and lift 80 lbs continuously in outdoor elements.
- Licensing: Valid Driver’s License with a clean abstract (Class G minimum; AR or commercial license is an asset).
- Certifications (Assets): Current Working at Heights training and valid First Aid / CPR certification are highly preferred.
