Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant/Technician to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in supporting pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, assisting with patient care, and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospital or pharmacy settings, possess strong knowledge of medical terminology, and demonstrate excellent patient care skills. Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Manage medication inventory, including restocking and organizing supplies
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under pharmacist supervision
- Verify prescription information and ensure compliance with medical regulations
- Maintain detailed records of medication dispensation and patient interactions
- Support medication administration processes as needed, including labeling and packaging
- Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to safety and cleanliness standards
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient treatment plans
Requirements
- Prior experience in a hospital or pharmacy setting is highly preferred
- Tamil Speaking preferred
- Pharmacy technician experience is advantageous but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for maintaining precise records
- Certification or licensing as required by state regulations (if applicable) is a plus
- Must be committed to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
