Job Title: Outreach Specialist Volunteer

Job Summary: The Engage Foundation is seeking a dynamic and community-oriented Outreach Specialist to join our team. The Outreach Specialist will play a central role in expanding our network, deepening relationships with youth and community partners, and amplifying participation in our programs and advocacy efforts. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about building connections, facilitating inclusive engagement, and advancing social change through grassroots and strategic outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Community and Partner Engagement:
- Identify, build, and maintain relationships with youth groups, community organizations, schools, and advocacy networks.
- Represent the Engage Foundation at events, meetings, and community spaces to raise awareness of our work and opportunities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for outreach partners, ensuring clear communication and ongoing collaboration.
- Drive Program Recruitment and Participation:
- Develop and implement targeted outreach plans to recruit diverse youth for programs and events.
- Collaborate with the communications team to co-create outreach materials that are engaging, accessible, and reflective of our mission.
- Monitor and report on recruitment outcomes and adapt strategies to ensure equitable participation.
- Support Community-Based Events and Activations:
- Help plan and execute community outreach events, info sessions, and grassroots campaigns (both virtual and in-person).
- Coordinate logistics, communications, and partner roles to ensure seamless and impactful events.
- Collect feedback and insights from participants and community members to inform future engagement strategies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, grassroots organizing, or outreach work, ideally with youth or equity-seeking communities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate across diverse groups.
- Strong project coordination skills with attention to detail and timelines.
- Comfort working independently and in team-based environments.
- Knowledge of community-based and participatory engagement practices.
- Familiarity with outreach tools such as email platforms, contact databases, and basic design tools (e.g., Canva).
Preferred Experience:
- Lived or professional experience working with underrepresented or marginalized youth communities.
- Experience in nonprofit, advocacy, or civic engagement settings.
- Understanding of how outreach strategies support broader social justice and policy goals.
