Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Supervisor – Quality Improvement, Business & Resident Financial Services, processes payroll and expenditure-related documentation for Pioneer Ridge Home for the Aged.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Performs on-line data entry, produces reports, and participates in the correction of input data.

Maintains and monitors absence quotas and leave entitlements and processes related Pioneer Ridge paperwork as required.

Processes hires, rehires, transfers, and terminations for Pioneer Ridge employees and initiates applicable forms, as required.

Processes staff reimbursements and initiates forms for increment raises.
-
Prepares payment authorization form records for the preparation of cheques.

Liaises with Human Resources and Pioneer Ridge supervisors regarding confidential payroll issues, and researches and responds to inquiries as required; liaises with other City divisions and external suppliers regarding billings and control procedures.

Provides support to Pioneer Ridge sections regarding SAP functions.

Processes temporary internal postings and probationary evaluations for Pioneer Ridge.

Provides backup to office staff according to organizational needs.

Performs such other related duties as may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
-
Secondary school graduation; and
-
Must have a working knowledge of an automated payroll system
Skills/Abilities:
-
Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
-
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with superiors, co-workers, other staff, residents, families, and the public
-
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
-
Self-starter with proven organizational skills
-
Must be at a basic skill level in word processing and an intermediate skill level in spreadsheet software and be proficient in on-line data entry
Assets:

Experience using SAP enterprise software
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

May be required to work statutory holidays to meet payroll deadlines

Prior to commencing employment, will be required to review and attest/affirm to all Pioneer Ridge Staff Immunization Policies

Must have successfully undergone a "two step" tuberculosis skin test within the 12 months prior to employment

Must undergo a successful Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
