About the Role
We’re looking for a safety‑driven Hazmat Technician to join our team in Edmonton. This position plays a critical role in protecting people, property, and the environment. The work involves handling, transporting, and managing hazardous materials in accordance with Canadian regulations and company safety standards. Because of the nature of the role, you must be prepared to respond to dangerous goods incidents at a moment’s notice, 24/7/365.
To be considered, applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and currently living in Canada.
Key Responsibilities
· Respond to dangerous goods incidents and emergencies on a 24/7/365 on‑call rotation
· Safely handle, package, label, and transport hazardous materials
· Conduct inspections, testing, and monitoring of hazardous waste and storage areas
· Manage spill response, containment, cleanup, and decontamination activities
· Maintain accurate documentation, manifests, and regulatory records
· Operate specialized equipment including PPE, respirators, monitoring devices, and containment tools
· Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local regulations
· Participate in safety meetings, drills, and ongoing training
· Support general facility operations as required
Qualifications
· Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident currently living in Canada
· Must be proficient in the English language, both written and verbal
· Previous experience in hazardous materials handling, environmental services, emergency response, or related field
· Valid TDG, WHMIS, HAZMAT, or equivalent certifications (or willingness to obtain)
· Ability to wear full PPE, including respirators
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
· Physically able to lift, bend, climb, and work in varying conditions
· Valid driver’s license; clean driving record preferred
Preferred Skills
· Experience with spill response or emergency response teams
· Knowledge of Canadian environmental regulations and waste management procedures
· NFPA 1001, NFPA 1002, NFPA 1081, and NFPA 470 Hazmat Technician certifications
· Forklift or equipment operation experience
· Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
