CNC Operator
Join Our Team as a CNC Operator!
The CNC Operator is responsible for operating 3‑ to 5‑axis CNC milling machines, regular and live tooling turning CNC machines to produce precision components that meet customer and quality requirements. This role includes interpreting technical drawings, operating fixtures, vices, chucks, and maintaining efficient production. The operator also works closely with set-up operators to optimize machining strategies and enhance overall performance as well as continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
· Operate one or more CNC machines while demonstrating the ability to work on parts of varying complexity.
· Operate machines using appropriate work holding such as vises, fixtures, chucks, and related tooling.
· Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions to accurately run parts while meeting cycle time and quality requirements.
· Meet production and quality standards while minimizing scrap, rework, and reject rates.
· Follow approved work instructions, drawings, and customer requirements at all times.
· Monitor machine performance and promptly report any abnormalities or issues to appropriate personnel.
· Perform work independently while ensuring all tasks are completed in compliance with applicable ISO quality standards.
· Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
About You…
· Education: OSSD, GED, or equivalent; vocational or technical training in machining is considered an asset.
· Experience: Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of practical experience in precision machining.
· Certifications: No mandatory certifications required; relevant machining, inspection, or safety certifications are considered an asset.
· Industry / Specialized Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings; strong shop-level knowledge of GD&T; proficient use of inspection and measuring equipment.
· Skills: Excellent mechanical and mathematical aptitude; strong manual dexterity with a high level of attention to detail and quality; ability to work independently with strong organizational skills; commitment to continuous improvement and quality-focused manufacturing practices.
· Physical Requirements: Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
