Position Summary
We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our Quality Assurance team as a Quality Assurance Inspector. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that products and materials meet the highest quality standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your attention to detail and contribute to the production of high-quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will work closely with production teams to identify defects, recommend improvements, and ensure compliance with company and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Conduct various tests (e.g., visual, dimensional, functional) on products using measuring instruments and specialized equipment.
- Record and maintain accurate inspection data, quality test results, and defect reports.
- Identify non-conformances or defects and collaborate with production teams to resolve issues.
- Ensure products meet both company standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, AAR).
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in quality processes.
- Sound working knowledge of welding and weld defect identification (per AWSD.15.1).
- Prior coating experience would be considered an asset.
- The ability to completely read and interpret blueprints.
- Sound knowledge of railcar production processes.
- Ability to make sound, informed decisions under pressure.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in a quality assurance or inspection role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Knowledge of quality control tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate effectively with different departments.
- Vision is a bona fide requirement for this position, and candidates must provide a copy of a Jaeger 2 equivalent test to demonstrate their visual acuity.
