We are seeking an experienced Intermediate/Senior Construction Detailer to join our detailing team. In this role, you will produce accurate, fabrication-ready shop and erection drawings, coordinate with engineering, project management, and the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed shop drawings, erection drawings, and bills of material for structural steel and miscellaneous metals using Tekla Structures
- Model complete structures, connections, and assemblies from architectural and structural design drawings
- Review and check drawings produced by other detailers for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to project specifications
- Coordinate detailing scope with project managers, engineers, and fabrication staff; identify and resolve discrepancies through RFIs
- Incorporate engineer-approved connection designs and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (CSA S16, CSA W59, CISC Code of Standard Practice)
- Manage revisions and drawing control throughout the project lifecycle, including as-built updates
- Support BIM coordination, including model exchange (IFC, Navisworks) with general contractors and other trades
- Estimate detailing hours and support bid preparation as required
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of structural & miscellaneous steel detailing experience in a fabrication environment
- Advanced proficiency with the Tekla suite of products (Tekla Structures required; Tekla Powerfab and Trimble Connect experience preferred)
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and civil drawings and project specifications
- Working knowledge of steel fabrication processes (cutting, forming/press brake work, welding, coatings) and how detailing decisions affect shop efficiency
- Familiarity with CISC standards and CSA S16 / CSA W59
- Proven checking experience and a strong track record for accuracy on complex projects
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
Assets
- Experience with SolidWorks and/or Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Inventor, Navisworks)
- Experience detailing miscellaneous metals: stairs, handrail, ladders, platforms, and custom architectural work
- Exposure to industrial or modular projects (equipment skids, support structures, enclosures)
- Post-secondary education in drafting/design technology or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Familiarity with CWB requirements and weld symbol application per CSA W59
- Experience with nesting/CNC data output for fabrication equipment
- Knowledge of connection design fundamentals and coordination with connection engineers
