Overview
We are urgently seeking Support Workers for our Post Majority Support Services program. Shifts include full time evening, part time and casual. The Support Worker provides as‑needed coverage within the Post‑Majority Support Services program, which supports young adults aged 18-26 as they prepare to transition from youth to adulthood. The support worker is responsible for providing support to young adults with decision making and lifestyle choices that will help build independence and reach goals. The Support Worker will provide support to young adults to attend activities, events, and appointments. This role will deliver consistent, high‑quality support that promotes safety, stability, and skill development. This position requires the ability to respond to shift requests on short notice and work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
Responsibilities
- Provides one-on-one support and assistance to young adults
- Mentorship to young adults
- Support youth and young adults by providing resources and information in areas including, but not limited to parenting, cultural, budgeting, meal planning and life skills
- Assist with filling out applications and forms for services and programs and provide support as they navigate through programs
- Promote health and well-being through the lens of an Indigenous world view
- Engage and connect with young adults who are struggling in various areas
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion, and ethical perspective
- Travel may be required

Qualifications
- Knowledge keeper/mature adult with extensive experience working with youth and young adults.
- Youth worker experience or relevant experience with vulnerable populations
- Valid class 5 driver’s license, reliable vehicle with $2 million liability insurance
- Provide 3-year driver’s abstract
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector and Child Intervention (Welfare) Record check provided at time of application and dated within 3 months.
- Strong working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite include Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, Database
- Knowledge and understanding of First Nations communities, culture and language an asset
- 2 references (at least 1 from previous employer)
