Overview
We are seeking a skilled and certified Red Seal Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive automotive repair experience, strong mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with various hand and power tools. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicle systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on vehicles using schematics and technical manuals
- Conduct maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake repairs, engine diagnostics, and system replacements
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery to complete repairs
- Assemble and disassemble vehicle components with precision and adherence to safety standards
- Identify mechanical issues through inspection and testing procedures
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle serviced
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and ensuring client satisfaction
- Assist in training apprentices or junior technicians as needed
- Follow safety protocols during all repair activities, including heavy lifting and the use of welding equipment
Requirements
- Valid Red Seal certification as a mechanic or equivalent qualification
- Proven dealership experience is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds) frequently throughout the workday
- Experience with assembly processes and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with good communication abilities
- Prior customer service experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
