Event Security Guard – History Ottawa
TOERSA Security Inc. is hiring professional Event Security Guards for History Ottawa.
History is a premium, high-end entertainment venue, and we are looking for security professionals who understand the importance of professionalism, presentation, customer service, and situational awareness.
Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, staff, artists, and venue partners while representing TOERSA Security at the highest standard.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the venue.
- Monitor entrances, exits, event areas, and assigned posts.
- Control and monitor access to restricted areas.
- Conduct security screening and assist with crowd management as required.
- Respond professionally and appropriately to incidents and emergencies.
- De-escalate conflicts and difficult situations using professional communication.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining security standards.
- Follow all TOERSA Security and History policies, procedures, and post orders.
- Maintain constant awareness of your surroundings and report suspicious or unsafe activity.
- Work closely with supervisors, venue management, and other security personnel.
- Complete incident reports and other required documentation accurately.
- Remain professional, attentive, and engaged throughout the entire shift.
Positions AvailableBarricade Detail
This position is designed for high-activity areas while maintaining a clean and professional appearance.
Required uniform:
- Black TOERSA Stage Shirt — neatly tucked in
- Black tactical pants
- Solid black belt
- Clean, solid black shoes
General Venue Security
All other security positions require a formal, professional appearance consistent with the premium standards of History.
Required uniform:
- TOERSA Company Blazer
- Solid White dress shirt — fully buttoned and tucked in
- Solid black clip-on tie
- Solid black dress pants
- Polished, solid black dress shoes
- Issued number tag worn directly above the TOERSA crest on the left chest of the blazer
Grooming & Appearance Standards
Professional presentation is a mandatory requirement for all personnel assigned to History.
- Facial hair must be neatly trimmed and well maintained.
- Hair must be clean and professionally styled.
- Proper personal hygiene is required.
- Clothing must be clean, pressed, and free from visible lint, stains, or damage.
- Uniform requirements must be followed exactly as instructed.
Failure to arrive for a scheduled shift in the required uniform or appropriate professional appearance may result in removal from the shift and/or future scheduling.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance and customer-service attitude.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous event, concert, nightclub, hospitality, or security experience is an asset.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
- Smart Serve certification is an asset for applicable positions.
Pay Range: $20 to $22 per hour ( Depending on certification/ experience )
