Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced medical or dental office environment. This role involves managing patient interactions, maintaining electronic medical records, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Prior experience with dental or medical office procedures, along with proficiency in office technology, is highly valued. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical terminology, and familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic and Dentrix.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, providing a welcoming environment
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages accurately
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accordingly
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting payments and updating patient information
- Prepare and organize patient charts, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of medical records
- Utilize Epic, Dentrix, and other electronic medical record systems to document patient visits and treatment plans
- Coordinate appointment scheduling with providers to optimize clinic flow
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to promote efficiency
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or Medical Office Assistant in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency with electronic health records systems such as Epic and Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental or medical practices
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally
- Previous office experience in a healthcare environment is preferred
- Exceptional communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and providers
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively
- Knowledge of dental office procedures is a plus but not required
