Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet patrons warmly, present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages.
- Take orders accurately and relay them to kitchen and bar staff.
- Serve food and beverages to customers at their tables.
- [Optional: Recommend wines or specialty drinks that complement patrons' meals.]
- [Optional: Prepare and serve specialty food/drinks at customers' tables.]
- Present bills to patrons and accurately process payments (cash, credit, debit).
- Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs to maintain a sanitary dining environment.
- Balance cash and record sales at the end of the shift.
- Enforce territorial liquor legislation and regulations regarding responsible service.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: A minimum of 6 months of related work experience as a food and beverage server.
- Language: English.
- Certifications: Must possess, or be willing to obtain, Yukon BARS-L (Be A Responsible Server - Liquor) certification upon hiring, or hold an equivalent provincial certification (e.g., Serving It Right, Smart Serve) with the ability to transfer.
