Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. This position operates within an office environment, where the security guard assists the client’s daily operations by promoting a safe and secure workplace and proactively interacting with visitors to maintain order and professionalism. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting patrols of the premises and preventing unauthorized access. This role is vital in maintaining a secure environment for all staff and visitors.
Duties
- Conduct regular patrols in a properly labelled and equipped vehicle (equipment will be provided) of the premises to identify potential security breaches or safety hazards.
- Respond promptly to any alarms, incidents, or emergencies, and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.
- Maintain detailed logs of security activities, incidents, and observations.
- Remain vigilant to suspicious behavior and prevent theft or vandalism.
- Provide excellent customer service by warmly welcoming staff and visitors and ensuring proper authorization and purpose of visit.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations related to security operations.
Requirements
- Prior experience in law enforcement, security, or related fields.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive during long shifts.
- Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations with calmness and professionalism.
- Good physical condition to perform patrols and stand for extended periods.
- Valid security license or certification as required by local regulations.
- Must provide a background check that was taken within the last 6 months.
- This position requires the candidate to possess a vehicle that allows for the proper placement of security-labelled magnets.
- The ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality and the ability to confidently initiate conversations with visitors and staff. This position requires active engagement and presence rather than passive monitoring.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour
