Lead Tutor - South (Full-Time)

Salary: $44,138.00/year - $55,172.00/year

Qualifications include:
Post-secondary education Math, Science, and/or Education.
Experience and/or desire to work with youth
Strong knowledge and understanding of the Alberta high school math curriculum and experience in math tutoring
Experience with recruiting and supervising volunteers
Experience in leading and running groups
Excellent time management, organizational, written and verbal skills
Strong team-work skills as well as the ability to work independently
Critical thinking skills
Administrative experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
A high degree of professionalism including the ability to work comfortably and successfully with corporate professionals and volunteers
Reliable transportation
Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John's Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol.
Evidence of a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
Three professional references required
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Recruit participants through in-school presentations
Follow up with student and parent inquiries
Complete a variety of administrative tasks including data entry
Support tutoring sessions in-person at various locations as required
Provide training and curriculum support to professional volunteers in the Tutoring Program
Fill in for Tutoring volunteers as needed
Recruit volunteers for a math and science tutoring program as needed
Supervise approximately 100 professional volunteers at different sites throughout Calgary
Use strength-based approach to give feedback and coach program volunteers
Build and maintain relationships with schools and community organizations
Be an ambassador for Tutoring and YMCA programs in the community
Support with other branch or association duties as required, including a scheduled weekly Duty Manager shift
