Employment Status: Full Time
Work hours: 8 hours a day 5 days a week
Start Time : Call as Required between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm - 40 hours per week
Wage for this position is $25.63 per hour for first 9 months, increases to $28.63 per hour
Responsibilities :
- Pickup and deliver freight to customers in and around Edmonton area
- Load and unload trailers on dock as required
- Ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate and freight is tagged correctly
- Use handheld technology for P&D workflow requirements
- Complete pre and post trip inspections
- Comply with all safety regulations, requirements and company policies at all times
- Routine terminal maintenance and caretaking as required
- Interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner providing exceptional customer service at all times
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Must have valid Class 1, Tandem-Tandem License with a minimum of 2 years commercial driving experience and highway certified
- City P&D experience is preferable
- Provide a current clean 5 year driver’s abstract
- Knowledge of the city of Edmonton and surrounding area
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive, pleasant and professional attitude
- Team Player - demonstrated ability to work in a team environment - has respect for self and co-workers
- Self motivated with the ability to take own initiative on projects
- Ability to maintain schedule
- Awareness of our Corporate Objectives and Principles
- Ability to successfully pass fit for duty testing which includes medical, drug and criminal record check
