Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, with opportunities to operate heavy equipment and perform vehicle maintenance as needed.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport freight and goods to designated destinations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS or maps, adhering to delivery schedules
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment and machinery when required
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting to maintain vehicle functionality
- Ensure all deliveries are accurately documented and signed off by recipients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles and equipment
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of freight and heavy equipment
Skills
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not required for all positions
- Experience with forklift operation and freight handling is advantageous
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and safety procedures
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting on delivery vehicles
- Strong navigation skills with familiarity in route planning tools
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines
- Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and operate heavy machinery when necessary
