Summary
The Shift Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day production operations using modern, data-driven, Industry 4.0 practices. This role ensures efficient workflow, high-quality output, and a safe working environment while fostering a collaborative, people-focused culture. The Shift Manager must be both a strong team leader and technologically adept, able to work with digital production tools, dashboards, and smart-manufacturing systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide clear guidance and expectations, instruction, and leadership to the production team while promoting a positive, people-oriented culture.
- Coordinate and monitor production activities to ensure compliance with production schedules, safety protocols, Industry 4.0 standards, and quality requirements.
- Use digital shop-floor tools, sensors, dashboards, and data analytics to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Assess project requirements, workforce allocation, and equipment needs to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Ensure output meets customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.
- Maintain compliance with company policies for cost control, waste reduction, efficiency, safety, and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support lean manufacturing, digital workflow improvements, and process optimization.
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in a Manufacturing-related field preferred.
- Three to five years of supervisory or team-leadership experience in a production or fabrication environment preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills — must be a people's person who can coach, motivate, develop and elevate team members at all skill levels.
- Tech-literate, with the ability to operate or learn digital manufacturing tools, production-monitoring systems, MES platforms, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
