Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Customer Service Specialist to support both administrative operations and home oxygen clients in the Medicine Hat area. This role combines office-based coordination with occasional field support, including after-hours on-call responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, a patient-focused mindset, and the ability to respond effectively in a home care environment. Candidates with healthcare training, particularly Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate, confidential client records in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Respond to incoming calls and inquiries from clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Prepare and manage documentation, including service logs, care notes, and reports.
- Assist with billing, invoicing, and insurance documentation.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely service delivery.
Oxygen & Client Care Support
- Coordinate delivery and pickup of home oxygen equipment (e.g., concentrators, cylinders).
- Educate clients and caregivers on safe use and basic troubleshooting of oxygen equipment.
- Monitor and document equipment usage; report concerns or irregularities.
- Perform routine checks to ensure equipment is functioning safely and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with home care safety standards and oxygen handling protocols.

On-Call Requirements
This position includes after-hours on-call responsibilities. The on-call team member will respond to urgent client needs, including delivery, pickup, or replacement of oxygen equipment and supplies.
Additional compensation is provided for after-hours work
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in healthcare, administration, or a related field is an asset.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) designation is strongly preferred and considered a significant asset for this role.
- Previous experience in home care, healthcare support, or medical administration preferred.
- Knowledge of oxygen therapy equipment and home care practices is an asset (training provided).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
