R & M Coastal Contracting is a Nanaimo based excavating contractor looking to hire a general labourer for projects in the central Vancouver Island area. Our projects include: excavating, drainage, septic system installation, retaining wall construction, and landscaping. Previous experience in landscaping, drainage, or excavating an asset.
Responsibilities
- Previous experience in landscaping, drainage, or excavating an asset
- Manual labour, cleaning and preparing sites
- Installing underground utilities including storm, water and sewer services
- Lay pipe to design grade ensuring proper tamping of pipe
- Raking, shovelling, unloading trucks and maintenance tasks
- Digging trenches, raking and shovelling
- Cleaning debris and removing waste materials from sites
- Operate hand tools as directed
- Work safely around heavy construction equipment
- Other labour duties as assigned
A valid drivers license and your own transportation is required. Experience not required we are willing to train the right candidate. We are open to students looking for summer employment. Also a good opportunity for someone who is looking to eventually become an equipment operator.
Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
