Wire Construction
Wire Construction is seeking experienced Skid Steer Operators to join our growing team. We are actively working on a diverse range of commercial and residential earthworks projects, including site preparation, grading, excavation support, demolition, underground utility installations, and general earthworks.
This role is ideal for operators who take pride in precision work, productivity, and working safely in a fast-paced construction environment. Wire offers steady, year-round work with competitive wages that meet industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate skid steers on commercial and residential construction sites
- Perform site preparation, grading, backfill, material handling, and cleanup operations
- Support excavation, underground utility, demolition, and earthworks crews
- Operate a variety of skid steer attachments, including buckets, forks, brooms, augers, and grading attachments
- Load, move, and stockpile materials safely and efficiently
- Assist with fine grading and site finishing activities
- Read and interpret construction drawings, grade stakes, and survey layout
- Work collaboratively with foremen, operators, labourers, and site supervisors
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform routine preventative maintenance
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and hazard assessment requirements
- Maintain productivity targets while ensuring quality workmanship
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience operating skid steers in civil, commercial, or residential construction
- Experience with grading, backfill, material handling, and earthworks operations
- Experience operating various skid steer attachments
- Strong understanding of construction safety and safe equipment operation
- Ability to read grade stakes and interpret site plans
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and self-motivated
- Valid driver's license
