Summary
We are currently seeking a Yard Labourer to join our team at Canada Iron and Metal Co. Ltd. Located in a busy/loud outdoor environment, this role involves manual labor to sort scrap metal into different categories. This is a physically demanding, hands-on job that requires lifting heavy items, working outdoors in all weather, and standing/walking for most of the shift. You will be working within a team to efficiently sort scrap metal and assist customers who are unloading their metal. We are looking for a strong, hard working person to join our team immediately.
Responsibilities
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Sort scrap metal (aluminum, stainless steel etc). into designated bins
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard area.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals.
Requirements
- Valid Fork Lift License (* NOT required but good to have)
- Excellent physical condition with the ability to perform manual labor.
- Hard working and punctual
- Experience with hand tools and power tools
- Basic mechanical knowledge is an asset.
- Fluent in spoken English
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift 75lb
- Quick learner

Compensation
$18-23/hr (plus overtime)
Hours
Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Saturdays 7:30am-12:30pm
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
