We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Inbound Cross-Border Dispatcher / Load Broker to join our growing operations team.
Position Summary
The Inbound Cross-Border Dispatcher / Load Broker is responsible for coordinating inbound freight movements from the United States into Canada, maximizing equipment utilization, and ensuring on-time service for customers. This role involves dispatching company trucks, sourcing freight through existing customer relationships and load boards, negotiating rates with carriers and brokers, and proactively managing shipments from pickup through delivery.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced transportation environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Source and secure inbound cross-border freight for company trucks using Loadlink, customer relationships, and industry resources.
- Dispatch company drivers and owner-operators with accurate and complete load information.
- Coordinate freight movements between customers, carriers, brokers, and drivers to maximize profitability and equipment utilization.
- Negotiate rates and service requirements with carriers, brokers, and customers.
- Enter and verify orders accurately, including pickup and delivery details, contacts, reference numbers, and special instructions.
- Monitor and track shipments throughout transit, providing updates to customers as required.
- Resolve service issues, delays, detention, border crossing challenges, and accessorial disputes in a timely manner.
- Coordinate customs documentation and ensure all cross-border paperwork is complete and accurate.
- Communicate professionally with customers, carriers, drivers, and customs brokers.
- Respond promptly to emails, phone calls, and customer inquiries.
- Finalize and document accessorial charges for billing purposes.
- Collect and maintain proof of delivery (PODs) and shipment documentation.
- Onboard new carriers, maintain carrier packets, and update carrier profiles.
- Assist with document management, customs paperwork, and operational filing.
- Support other operational functions as required and participate in cross-training initiatives.
- Maintain high levels of customer service while meeting company performance and profitability goals.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years of dispatching, brokerage, or transportation operations experience.
- Previous experience with cross-border freight operations is strongly preferred.
- Flatbed transportation experience is considered a strong asset.
- Proficiency with Loadlink is required.
- Strong understanding of freight brokerage and carrier management practices.
- Knowledge of customs procedures and cross-border transportation documentation is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
