Overview
We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating heavy machinery, particularly excavators. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical operations and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators to complete earthwork tasks
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other operators to coordinate work activities.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs of equipment usage.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Preform routine maintenance, such as greasing, on equipment to ensure optimal performance. Tidy the equipment cab after use
Skills
- Proficiency in operating excavators
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans and line locates.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- Commitment to safety practices in all aspects of work.
Asset
- Experience with other heavy equipment, especially dozers (crawler tractors) an asset
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Experience with underground utility installation, demolition, or snow clearing

Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
