About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Badminton Coach to lead engaging after-school badminton sessions for students. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about teaching the fundamentals of badminton in a fun, safe, and encouraging environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead structured badminton sessions for students of varying skill levels.
- Teach fundamental techniques, rules, and sportsmanship.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Ensure participant safety and proper use of equipment.
- Encourage teamwork, confidence, and skill development.
- Communicate with program staff regarding attendance and participant progress.
Qualifications
- Experience coaching or playing badminton at a competitive or recreational level.
- Experience working with children or youth is preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Reliable, organized, and enthusiastic.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
- A valid vulnerable sector/background check required.
Program Structure & Schedule
- Afterschool Program:
- Runs September-June
- Must be available from 3:30 PM onward on weekdays (1-3 times per week)
