Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Woodland Cree First Nation Education Authority Elementary School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and will be responsible for educating students in various subjects, including Math and Special Education. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to engage with children of diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities. Responsibilities
- Form strong, authentic relationships with Cree identity, language, laws and values
- Nurture children, youth and co-workers by modeling a healthy lifestyle
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet Alberta Education curriculum standards.
- Educate students in core subjects, with a focus on hands-on learning
- Create an organized, supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding academic performance and behavioral issues.
- Collaborate with inclusive education staff to support students with disabilities.
- Maintain an organized classroom and office space conducive to learning.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required.
- ATA Certification is preferred.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is required.
- Familiarity with inclusive education and First Nations values is preferred.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse student populations.
- Willingness to participate in the Nehiyaw way of life and to participate actively in the community inside and outside of school hours.

Pay: $70,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
