About Toboggan Brewing Company
Toboggan Brewing Company is built around London’s history, local beer, and good food served in a lively, high-volume restaurant environment.
Our name comes from a real part of Forest City history. In the late 1800s, London was known as a tobogganing destination, with clubs, winter gatherings, and massive wooden ramps built throughout the city. One of the most impressive was a 485-foot double chute near Victoria Park, just around the corner from where we are today.
That same spirit of people coming together is what Toboggan is about now: locally brewed beer, strong food, and a busy restaurant that brings Londoners together.
About the Role
We are looking for 3–4 experienced line cooks who can handle a busy service with speed, precision, cleanliness, and composure.
This is not an entry-level cooking position. We are looking for cooks who can hold down a station, plate consistently, communicate clearly, and stay calm when the kitchen is moving fast. The right candidates are quick, organized, pressure-tested, and take pride in doing the job properly.
If you are the kind of cook who moves with urgency, keeps your station clean, respects the team, and does not fall apart during the rush, this is the kind of kitchen where you can stand out.
What We Are Looking For
We are hiring cooks who are strong on the line and serious about execution.
The ideal candidate has real restaurant experience, understands timing, follows recipes, plates with care, and knows how to work clean. You should be comfortable working evenings, weekends, and high-volume services.
You do not need to be fancy. You need to be fast, sharp, reliable, and consistent.
Responsibilities
- Set up and work your station efficiently for service
- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to restaurant standards
- Follow recipes, portion controls, plating guides, and prep systems
- Maintain speed and accuracy during busy service periods

- Communicate clearly with chefs, managers, and other cooks
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, FIFO, and storage procedures
- Complete opening, closing, prep, and cleaning duties properly
- Restock low items during service and communicate shortages early
- Handle meat, seafood, vegetables, sauces, fryer, grill, sauté, pantry, pizza, or prep stations as assigned
- Assist with receiving, storage, inventory, and waste control when needed
- Support the team without ego, attitude, or unnecessary drama
Performance Expectations
Successful cooks in this role will be able to:
- Stay calm and productive during high-pressure services
- Plate consistently and care about presentation
- Work fast without sacrificing quality
- Keep a clean station without being reminded
- Take feedback and apply it immediately
- Show up on time and ready to work
