Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Packager to join our production team. The Packager supports daily production operations by packaging finished products and working across multiple production lines as required to meet quality and production targets.
Reports to: Packaging Lead Hand
Position type: Full-time, permanent
Responsibilities
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including health and safety, food safety, and HACCP requirements.
- Prepare packaging materials and place products into trays, boxes, or other packaging.
- Seal, label, and box finished products accurately.
- Ensure products meet established quality and quantity standards.
- Operate packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout the shift.
- Move products through the packaging line and prepare finished goods for shipment.
- Assist with palletizing and staging finished products as required.
- Complete required documentation, including cleaning records and temperature checks.
- Identify and report product quality, equipment, or safety concerns to the Lead Hand.
- Work across different production lines and adapt to changing assignments and priorities.
- Support team members in meeting daily production targets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to understand and communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous production, packaging, or assembly-line experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety practices is an asset.
- Knowledge of WHMIS and Safety Data Sheets is an asset.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements and regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials and products.
- Ability to work in an environment that may include noise, odors, dust, water, cleaning chemicals, and hot or cold temperature variations.
- CSA-approved steel-toe footwear is required.
Equipment Used
Production-line conveyors, scales, baking and cleaning equipment, powered pallet jacks, hand pallet jacks, and pallet wrappers.
Schedule
- 6:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Schedule will be either Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, depending on operational requirements.
