Job description:
TAG Construction has been operating in the civil construction industry for over 39 years and we are looking for an Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. Starting hourly rate ranges from $38 to $48 per hour, depending on experience and offers competitive compensation and benefits.
TASKS:
- Ability to operate and control the equipment safely in changing ground conditions.
- Perform road work, excavation work, lifting work and knowledge of rigging.
- Operate the equipment manually and also through the use of electronic and technical methods of operation.
- Promote a safe work environment and adhere to safety policies and work procedures.
- Perform other duties as and when assigned.
- Perform a daily pre-inspection of equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment (eg. greasing).
- Able to interpret and use hand signals to communicate with others.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years prior experience working as a mainline operator in underground utility & civil construction.
- Must have the physical ability to stand strenuous and dangerous work environments.
- Possess physical strength to operate heavy equipment.
- Ability to communicate and interact both verbally and written.
- A keen eye to details and good decision making skills.
- Manage and handle emergency situations & work under pressure.
- Possess strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Ability to complete work projects on time in an effective manner.
- Ability to operate all heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, rock trucks.
