Position Title: Housing Coordinator
Reports to: Public Works and Housing Manager
Position Location: Chilliwack BC
Salary: $32.15 - $36.19
Work Schedule: Full Time, 35 hours per week (3 Month Term)
Start Date: June 29, 2026 to September 30, 2026
Summary:
We are seeking a motivates and community – focused Housing Coordinator to join our team!
This position is being offered on a term basis, with the potential for the successful candidate to be considered for a permanent role at the conclusion of the term.
The Housing Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the housing needs of individuals, families, and communities by promoting safe, accessible, and culturally appropriate housing options.
This position collaborates closely with organizational leadership, government partners, and community agencies to identify housing challenges, coordinate resources, and expand pathways to stable housing. Through relationship-building, advocacy, and program coordination, the Housing Coordinator helps strengthen housing security and improve long‑term outcomes for those we serve.
Housing Support and Advocacy:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for all community members seeking housing assistance, providing support and guidance throughout the application and housing placement process.
- Overseeing rent monitoring and collection, ensuring timely payments, enforcing housing policies, and maintaining clear and effective communication with tenants to address concerns, resolve issues, and promote a positive living environment
- Advocate for the unique housing needs of community members and individuals and families with local, regional, and federal housing authorities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders, including leadership, housing boards, and external partners.
- Provide information on housing programs, grants, and services available to members.
Project Management:
- Administer and oversee housing programs and initiatives aimed at improving housing conditions for the community.
- Monitor housing project progress, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and community needs are met.
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors to ensure housing projects are delivered on schedule and in accordance with quality standards.
Cultural Sensitivity and Community Engagement:
- Ensure that housing programs and services are culturally sensitive and reflect the values, traditions, and needs of communities.
- Facilitate community meetings and consult with members to identify housing priorities and ensure community-driven solutions.
- Promote awareness of housing issues through workshops, information sessions, and community engagement efforts.
Data Collection and Reporting
- Collect and analyze housing data to assess the effectiveness of housing programs and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders, including funding bodies, community leadership, and government officials.
- Ensure compliance with reporting requirements and maintain accurate records of housing applications, placements, and projects.
Collaboration and Partnerships:
- Work collaboratively with local governments, housing authorities, and communities to promote affordable and sustainable housing solutions.
- Explore opportunities for funding and partnerships to enhance housing programs and services.
- Assist with the development of housing policies and strategies tailored to the needs of communities
Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Post Secondary Education in Business Administration or Property Management considered an asset.
- Experience working with ISC, CMHS and other related Provincial and Federal Agencies considered an asset.
- Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Proof of vaccination.
- Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s license

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate with diverse groups.

- Proven ability to deliver presentations and facilitate community participation
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and deadlines.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and housing management software.
