Crossing All Bridges Learning Centre (CABLC) was founded in 2003 by four local mothers who wanted more for their children, adults living with developmental disabilities who had aged out of the public school system, with nowhere to go next. Starting with two staff and ten participants, CABLC opened its doors with a mission to provide dynamic programs and opportunities designed to maximize individual potential.
Today, CABLC is a cornerstone of the Brantford community, offering lifelong learning, meaningful social experiences, and inclusive programming for adults with developmental challenges. In 2018, a $2.5 million community capital campaign made it possible to purchase a permanent home, securing the organization’s future for years to come.
Shredding Barriers, launched in 2016, is CABLC’s social enterprise: a secure document destruction service that provides part-time employment to individuals with varying abilities. The enterprise creates real jobs, real earnings, and real opportunity.
