We are expanding our engineering team to develop a next-generation ink delivery system that will set a new standard for reliability, precision, and ease of maintenance.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in creating a new product from concept through production while working with a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in fluid handling systems and new product development.
You will lead the mechanical design of an advanced industrial ink delivery system, working closely with our electronics, firmware, and manufacturing teams to develop a reliable, production-ready solution.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems and taking ownership of products from concept to commercialization.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative ink delivery and fluid handling systems.
- Design reservoirs, manifolds, pumps, tubing, fittings, valves, pressure regulators, and related mechanical components.
- Develop systems that provide accurate pressure and flow control.
- Select materials compatible with solvent, oil, UV-curable, and water-based inks.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
- Build and evaluate prototypes.
- Perform testing, validation, and design improvements.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Work closely with firmware and electronics engineers to integrate sensors, motors, valves, and control systems.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to transition products into production.
- Prepare technical documentation, bills of materials, and assembly procedures.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of mechanical product development experience.
- Proven experience designing precision fluid or liquid handling systems.
- Strong understanding of pumps, valves, pressure control, seals, tubing, and fluid mechanics.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks.
- Experience developing products from concept through production.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred
Experience in one or more of the following industries:
- Industrial inkjet printing
- Medical devices
- Laboratory automation
- Chemical processing
- Precision dispensing systems
- Beverage dispensing equipment
- Fuel systems
- Robotics and automation
Experience with CFD, FEA, rapid prototyping, and injection-molded product design is considered an asset.
