Food Processing Quality Control Supervisor- 12 Month contract
East Coast Wild Blueberry is offering a position as a Quality Supervisor to maintain our quality program.
This is a 12 month contract
The right candidate must be passionate about food safety, have experience in food production and in addition to education in food sciences. We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual that is self motived. They must also present the ability to work efficiently under pressure, consistently delivering high quality results.
East Coast Wild Blueberry is production facility located in Glenholme Nova Scotia. Primarily producing fresh to frozen wild blueberries.
We have an opening for a quality supervisor 12 month term that offers the opportunity to grow within ECWB, as we forge ahead into new opportunities.
Reporting to the Plant Manager you will be responsible for the following.
- Maintaining ECWB quality program to ensure compliance at the highest level with government regulatory regulations and 3rd party audits.
- Review all completed quality related documents to ensure they are completed correctly.
- Manage the Quality Forms, SOPS, and the Document Control Log, reviewing and updating as required to ensure compliance.
Ensuring all documents are electronically backed up.
- Working with external partners (suppliers & customers) as required to ensure requirements are met.
- Excellent verbal and written communications.
- Experienced in MS word & excel.
- Responsible for the pest control provider and renewing the contract.
- Ensuring all measuring devises are calibrated as required.
- Maintaining trend analysis reports for the following but not limited to
- Foreign Objects discovered during fresh season.
- Customer compliant
- Product lab testing results
- On the line quality test results.
- Maintaining and updating the Employee Training, Training Records and Competencies which includes but is not limited to. Employee annual training review
- New employee orientation
- Quality related crew briefings and CAR’s
- Auditing the production floor on all shifts as needed to view the operation, employees and procedures making continuous improvement recommendations to the Production Supervisors and or the Operations Manager.
- Following up and acting on customer complaints
- Review customer specifications to ensure ECWB specification meets their requirements.
- Maintain a safe, quality, and healthy working environment and follow all food safety regulations.
- Legal & Regulatory monitoring related to food safety to ensure products manufactured at ECWB always comply with the latest local & international regulations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Degree in food Science or equivalent experience.
TECHNICAL/JOB-SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
- Commercial Food Production experience
- Document Control Knowledge
- HACCP certificate
- Food Safety auditing experience.
