Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Azure Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise-scale cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Azure infrastructure, cloud architecture, DevOps, automation, security, and migration initiatives. This role requires both strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities to guide engineering teams and drive cloud transformation projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available Azure cloud solutions.
- Architect and manage Azure Infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Lead cloud migration initiatives from on-premises and other cloud platforms to Azure.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub.
- Implement Azure networking, security, identity, and governance best practices.
- Monitor cloud environments and optimize performance, availability, and cost.
- Collaborate with application, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver cloud-native solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across cloud initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security and governance standards.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of IT Infrastructure or Cloud Engineering experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
- Strong experience with:
- Microsoft Azure Services
- Azure Virtual Machines
- Azure Virtual Network (VNet)
- Azure Storage
- Azure App Services
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Azure Functions
- Azure SQL Database
- Azure Monitor & Log Analytics
- Azure Backup & Site Recovery
- Expertise with Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID).
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of networking, DNS, Load Balancers, Firewalls, VPN, and ExpressRoute.
- Experience implementing cloud security, governance, RBAC, and Azure Policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure Landing Zones.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Experience with FinOps and Azure cost optimization.
- Experience supporting enterprise production environments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Pay: $70.00-$90.00 per hour
