Denny's – Server (Serving, Hosting & Service Assistant Roles)
We're hiring servers for our new Denny's location — covering serving, hosting, and service assistant duties depending on the shift. If you're friendly, quick on your feet, and enjoy working with people, we want to meet you.
Serving duties:
- Greeting guests and taking accurate food and drink orders
- Entering orders into the POS and delivering food/drinks promptly
- Checking in on guests throughout their meal
- Processing bill payments accurately
- Serving alcohol responsibly in line with Smart Serve requirements (bar on-site)
- Handling guest concerns calmly and looping in a manager when needed
- Greeting guests as they arrive and managing the waitlist
- Seating guests fairly and balancing sections across the restaurant
- Answering phone calls and taking reservations or to-go orders
- Keeping the entrance and waiting area clean and organized
- Communicating with servers and kitchen about seating flow and large parties
- Bussing and resetting tables quickly between guests
- Refilling drinks, bread, and condiments as needed
- Supporting servers during rush periods
- Keeping the dining room stocked and guest-ready
What we're looking for:
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable talking with guests
- Able to multitask and stay organized during busy rushes
- Reliable and punctual for scheduled shifts
- Must be 19+ and hold a valid Smart Serve certification (or willing to obtain one before start date)
- Previous serving/hosting experience is an asset but not required
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
