Overview
The incumbent will be involved in all aspects of larger projects including planning/scheduling and start-up, budgeting, pre-construction, execution and close-out. This includes working in partnership with internal resources including other PM staff, purchasing and maintenance division leadership and tradespeople. Duties also include coordinating and providing guidance as applicable to external contractors and other stakeholders. Attention to detail is key as is a relentless focus on meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations.
Job Duties:
- Manage projects through the complete lifecycle from concept to final sign-off
- Apply construction expertise to ensure proper project estimating, planning, scheduling, staffing, cost control and overall management
- Review and communicate objectives for critical milestones, budget, schedule and client satisfaction measurements to project team members
- Manage the subcontracting process, which includes facilitating initial scope review meetings, finalizing agreed processes, developing subcontract scopes of work and managing the subcontract distribution and final execution process
- Maintain relationships and communication tools as needed with suppliers and other key project personnel to verify that materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and personnel are obtained and / or delivered when required
- Advise Manager on project execution issues, potential claims and disputes in a timely fashion
- Monitor the change management process, which includes identifying change events, submitting change notices, pricing and tracking change work, optional changes in project scope and negotiating change orders with clients
- Assist in the input of regular status reports for company executives, detailing status of the project and recommending actions to be taken
- Ensure projects records and documentation are properly maintained
- Conduct on-site inspections during the project to assess progress, monitor compliance with project plans, identify and assess deficiencies, conduct sign-offs, etc.
- Support finance with ensuring timeliness, accuracy and correct billing during the project stages
Qualifications:
- Formal education in Construction Management, Trades, Project Management or another related field
- 5+ years managing construction projects through the full lifecycle
- A demonstrated track record of dealing successfully with trades and stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with any project or construction-related software is an asset
- Diplomatic with highly effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Strong communicator in verbal, written and electronic form
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- Must have a strong work ethic, be reliable with a positive team attitude
- Adaptable with the ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure
- Able to travel to Nunavut for extended periods as required
Pay: $120,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
