The Red Deer Food Bank supports individuals and families in the community by providing access to nutritious food and healthy living. In addition, it operates a diverse range of social enterprise activities that support its mission of relieving hunger today, preventing hunger tomorrow.
One of our social enterprise activities is The Food Dude, our more traditional and popular food truck. It offers smash burgers and poutines with various fried side options, such as cinnamon donuts and fried pickles.
We are looking for a motivated, forward-thinking person to lead The Food Dude operations this season. To apply, you must have the following capabilities and qualifications.
Must be able to:
- take enquiries regarding food truck services, availability, and cost.
- schedule events and locations to maximise operations and revenue.
- work independently to prepare, cook, and serve food according to approved menus, recipes, and food safety standards.
- track inventory, supplies, and ingredients, restocking as needed.
- provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to customers.
- follow all food safety and workplace safety regulations.
- safely drive, park, operate, and clean the food truck at designated locations and events.
- stand for long periods of time and lift moderate weights.
- work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and special events.
Must have the following:
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Valid Food Handler Certification from an AHS-approved provider.
- Basic Criminal Record Check.
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or mobile food operations.
- A Culinary Arts Diploma or Cook Apprenticeship would be an asset.
