12-30 hours per week, Days (no weekends or evenings)
Café Royale is seeking an energetic individual with current food service experience. You must have a positive attitude, be friendly and skilled at dealing with a diverse population.
The Cafe is owned and operated by RVH Auxiliary and all net proceeds are donated back to support patient care at RVH.
Responsibilities :
- Take customer orders, prepare, heat and finish simple food orders
- Use manual and electric appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim food
- Portion and wrap food for pre-packaged take-out meals
- Prepare and serve hot beverages. Replenish milk, sugar, etc.
- Assist in small – large size catering requests, set up and delivery
- Ensure work areas, equipment and storage remain in an organized and sanitary condition in accordance with operating standards
- Function within the Health & Safety guidelines by providing a safe and supportive environment for all customers and co-workers.
- Operate ovens, espresso machine, coffee makers, specialty equipment and the POS system
- Handle and store cleaning products
- Operate dishwasher, sanitize and wash dishes and other appliances by hand as required, empty garbage, recycling and compost
- Work collaboratively with your colleagues and volunteers
- Access to a reliable vehicle

Qualifications:
- 6 months – 1 year minimum of food service experience
- Safe Food Handling certificate is an asset
- Able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs., walking and standing for long periods of time
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.60-$17.80 per hour
