Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting store operations, supervising staff, and ensuring excellent customer service. Duties
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of customer service
- Supervise and motivate sales associates, providing training and development opportunities to enhance team performance
- Manage merchandising efforts, including product placement, pricing strategies, and inventory replenishment to maximize sales
- Handle payroll processing, scheduling, and maintaining accurate records of employee hours and performance
- Oversee cash handling procedures, cashiering activities, and POS transactions to ensure accuracy and security
- Support recruiting efforts by interviewing candidates and participating in hiring decisions
- Maintain store appearance through organized displays and adherence to visual merchandising standards
- Implement marketing initiatives to promote products and increase store traffic
- Assist with purchasing decisions, inventory management, and budgeting processes
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and customer service standards
- Handle customer inquiries professionally via phone or in person, resolving issues promptly
Qualifications
- Proven supervisory or team management experience within retail or related industries
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and basic math skills
- Experience with merchandising, pricing strategies, marketing, and sales management
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to train & develop staff effectively
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and administrative tasks
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing responsibilities
- Knowledge of recruiting processes, interviewing techniques, and employee development practices
- Familiarity with budgeting procedures, payroll processing, and store operations software is preferred
