Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to manage inventory, load and unload shipments, and support warehouse operations. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment. The Forklift Operator plays a vital role in ensuring accurate order picking and maintaining smooth warehouse flow.
Duties
- Safely operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to move materials within the warehouse
- Load and unload goods from trucks, pallets, or storage areas with precision
- Conduct routine inspections of forklift equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs
- Assist with order picking using warehouse management systems (WMS) to fulfill customer orders accurately
- Utilize basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and verifying quantities during order processing
- Perform heavy lifting as required to handle materials safely and efficiently
- Support warehouse management in maintaining organized storage areas and inventory accuracy
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries during forklift operation
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, in a warehouse distribution setting
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic maintenance checks
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picking processes
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory control and order fulfillment
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly and stand for extended periods during shifts
- Strong attention to safety standards and protocols when operating heavy machinery
- Prior experience with warehouse distribution operations is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided as needed
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and efficiency
Pay: $24.00 per hour
