Job Overview
As a Mitigation Crew Leader at NHC 24/7 Inc. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team of technicians during disaster restoration projects. You will lead efforts to mitigate damage caused by water, fire, mold, and other environmental hazards. This includes assessing the situation, organizing tasks, ensuring the use of proper techniques and equipment, and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the restoration process.
Responsibilities
- Perform fire, water, mold, and asbestos remediation, including fire and smoke cleaning, water extraction and drying (Categories 1–3), mold remediation, and Type 1–2 asbestos removal (Type 3 upon certification)
- Provide emergency board-up services to secure damaged properties
- Pack, clean, organize, and move contents on-site and off-site for storage or further restoration
- Complete all required job documentation, including moisture maps, atmospheric readings, time sheets, work orders, ER reports, and equipment forms
- Capture and upload photographic documentation for each job to the company’s document management system
- Collect and manage flooring samples from damaged areas as required
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles are properly stocked with tools and materials
- Clean and maintain restoration equipment and ensure a safe, organized work environment, including the shop
- Identify workplace hazards and promptly report them to the crew and supervisor
- Support supervisors with additional operational and administrative tasks as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in restoration or related field
- IICRC Certification (asset)
- Asbestos removal certification (Type 1 and Type 2; Type 3 upon completion of training) (asset)
- Skills and Competencies
- Ability to lift heavy materials
- Ability to lift heavy materials
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Working Conditions:
- Flexible hours, with the possibility of evening and weekend work depending on emergencies and on-call schedule
- Frequent travel based on the location of incidents
Work hours: Monday to Friday: 6:30am to 4:30pm
Overtime will be required during busy work periods and during your scheduled on call rotation of every 3 weeks.
