Reports to: Plant Supervisor
Full time (3:15pm- 11:45pm)
Job Summary- Under the direction of the Plant Supervisor, plan and assign work to various employees to maintain the production schedule and quality standards.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Support the operation in terms of production, quality, cost, delivery, technical, and safety, whilst respecting the defined goals.
- Plan and organize layouts for line changes due to volume changes or manpower reductions.
- Support the implementation of engineering changes, production trials, model change and pilot build
- Review and track posted daily, weekly, and monthly goals (including Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are monitored, and targets achieved), spot potential problems, and lead in formulating and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures and solutions.
- Strive to continually improve using Lean tools to reduce costs, improve production and quality. Supervise and control resources effectively to support customer delivery requirements and Lean Manufacturing principles
- Contribute to the improvement of working procedures by constantly looking for solutions to ensure the best productivity results of the machinery group and ensuring compliance with procedures, operating instructions, and work instructions
- Ensure all external and internal auditory standards and improvement requirements are met
- Report plant or machinery breakdowns to the Manager of Facilities and Assets
- Promote Total Productive Maintenance procedures to further improve the availability of the line
- Hold daily meetings to communicate daily objectives and discuss successes, failures, and countermeasure activity.
- Motivate the team to create a high-performance culture where improvement suggestions are embraced, Through the utilization of lean manufacturing techniques, strive to exceed the Company targets in productivity, efficiency, and quality on a continuous basis
- Responsible for training of operators for products and processes within the team Complete further development of operators through performance evaluation, development of training plans, feedback, and coaching.
- Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems
- Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them
- Ensure that internal delivery processes are adhered to support dispatch time windows
- Support the resolution of Customer concerns. Identify and eliminate root cause using robust countermeasures. Sustain the corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues
- Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace is always maintained.
- Conduct incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure
- Proactively assist in facility cycle counts reporting necessary numbers and requests to the Plant Manager
- Understand and execute all Tecvalco policies and procedures.
- Attend and run meetings as required
- Prepare a variety of reports and analysis
- Other duties as assigned
