Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Truss Backshop Worker to join our team. This role involves supporting the daily operations of our workshop by assisting with various backshop tasks, ensuring smooth workflow, and maintaining a safe and organized environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to contribute to a team-focused setting. Prior experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment is a plus but not required; training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills and gain hands-on experience in a professional setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and assembly of parts and components in the backshop area
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and workspaces
- Support the inspection and quality control processes to ensure standards are met
- Operate basic hand tools and machinery as trained
- Help with inventory management, including stocking supplies and materials
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
Qualifications
- Previous truss manufacturing, framing, carpentry, construction, or lumber industry experience is an asset, but not required
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Ability to read a tape measure or willingness to learn
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to perform physical work and lift building materials throughout the day
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
