Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Concrete Former to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete forming and related trades, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. This role involves working on various construction projects, including restoration, renovation, and new builds, requiring proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation. The Concrete Former will play a vital part in ensuring the structural integrity and quality of concrete installations across diverse projects.
Duties
- Construct and assemble formwork for concrete pouring using carpentry skills and hand tools
- Install rebar and reinforcement materials according to blueprints and schematics
- Operate heavy equipment safely for lifting and positioning forms and materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise execution
- Perform concrete finishing tasks, including smoothing, leveling, and sealing surfaces
- Execute restoration and renovation work involving concrete structures
- Use power tools such as drills, saws, and caulking guns for various tasks
- Assist with welding, flooring installation, masonry, and other related construction activities as needed
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and project specifications
- Conduct routine inspections of formwork to maintain quality control throughout the process
Experience
- Proven experience in concrete forming or related construction trades such as masonry or carpentry
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to heavy equipment operation and maintenance
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding, caulking, and flooring installation
- Knowledge of rebar installation, concrete finishing techniques, restoration, renovation projects, and masonry work is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in construction or renovation projects involving concrete structures is preferred
