Job Summary
The Floor Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our banquet events, overseeing activities, and maintaining high standards of customer service. This position requires strong leadership skills and a passion for the customer service, as well as experience in managing staff and operations in a fast-paced environment. The Floor Manager will be responsible for supervising team members, managing inventory, and ensuring food safety protocols are followed.
Responsibilities
- Oversee banquet staff during setup, service, and teardown
- Conduct pre-event briefings to align team on expectations and timelines
- Monitor staff performance and provide on-the-spot coaching or redirection
- Ensure team professionalism and adherence to dress code and conduct standards
- Ensure seamless execution of banquet service, from plated dinners to buffets
- Act as point of contact for corporate clients during events
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Maintain ambiance and cleanliness throughout the event space
- Ensure compliance with food safety and venue protocols
- Coordinate with event planners and vendors for last-minute adjustments
- Assist with staff scheduling and shift assignments
- Report incidents, service issues, or operational gaps to the Operations Administrator
Qualifications
- Valid Food Safety Certification and ProServe (or equivalent) for alcohol service
- First Aid/CPR certification
- 2+ years in banquet or restaurant management, preferably in upscale or corporate settings
- Proven success managing large teams during high-volume events
- Familiarity with POS systems, banquet event orders (BEOs), and vendor coordination
- Experience handling VIP or executive-level clientele with discretion and professionalism
- Calm under pressure, with a knack for resolving conflicts diplomatically
- Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying service gaps or operational risks
- Excellent time management and multitasking ability during live events
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively resolve conflicts
