Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and detail-oriented Barista/Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our cafe, crafting exceptional beverages, handling transactions, and ensuring our guests feel welcome. This position requires someone who is flexible and dependable, with the ability to open or close the shop as needed, and who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Cash Handling: Greet customers warmly, take accurate orders, and efficiently process payments using our POS system.
- Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages (coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and seasonal specials) to high standards.
- Opening & Closing Duties: Perform essential opening procedures (setting up stations, brewing fresh coffee) or closing procedures (cleaning equipment, restocking inventory, securing the shop, and balancing the register) as required by the schedule.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the counter space, seating area, and barista stations clean, sanitized, and organized throughout the shift.
- Inventory & Stocking: Restock milk, coffee beans, syrups, pastry cases, and grab-and-go items.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Availability: Weekend availability is a strict requirement. Must also be flexible to work early morning opening shifts and evening closing shifts as scheduled.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic with a proven track record of punctuality and dependability.
- Physical Capability: Must be able to stand for extended periods and comfortably lift and move at least 25 lbs (such as milk crates, ice bags, and inventory boxes).
- Experience: Previous barista, cash handling, or food service experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a great attitude!
- Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to multitask under pressure, and a strong team-player mindset.
