Job Profile: CNC Laser Programmer
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Laser Programmer to join our manufacturing team. You will use a 3D drawing software to import and analyze engineering models and SigmaNest to generate high-efficiency toolpaths and optimized nests. You will be responsible for maximizing material yield and ensuring all finished components meet strict tolerance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Nesting: Use SigmaNest to sequence cuts, generate toolpaths, and layout parts to maximize sheet yield.
- Model Interpretation: Extract and analyze 3D sheet metal models and engineering designs directly from Creo.
- Parameter Management: Set laser parameters (speed, gas pressure, focus) within the programming software based on material type and thickness.
- Data Integration: Maintain and update the SigmaNest material and parts databases to mirror engineering revisions in Creo.
- Production Support: Troubleshoot software-related cutting issues and collaborate with shop floor operators to optimize program performance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years of CNC laser programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Software Proficiency: Proven, hands-on experience using SigmaNest and 3D Drawing Software (SolidWorks, CREO, Catia, Inventor, Sketchup). Proven experience with AutoCAD to draw, modify shapes, flatten, and scale parts.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication, bend allowances, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
